Memory is not unlimited. So we came up with the invention of pagination for content on the internet. But traditional pagination has some drawbacks. And while we can ignore them for specific applications, like forums, they might not be forgivable for other applications — like infinite scroll. Luckily, there is a solution, which I describe in my new article: Cursor based pagination.
More Intl
goodies!
I love the Intl
API. While English dominates the web, presenting content in a language native to the user — is still best practice in terms of UX. For a long time, formatting dates and numbers — was a cumbersome task. Tools like moment
or date-fns
were usually used to format dates. But in recent years, an Intl
API was becoming stable and providing a native solution to format and manipulate dates and numbers. However, it was still lacking tools to work with words. But not anymore! Meet — Intl.Segmenter
. An API to split string in JavaScript. Read this post by Stefan to learn more. Keep in mind, that according to MDN — Firefox does not yet support it natively.
Happy coding!
