Tools I used to write my two recent books
In the past six months, I wrote two books. Below is the breakdown of the process and the tools I used to do so.
When writing a book, the default choice is either using Word (Google Docs) or Scrivener—a go-to app for writers of all kinds.
My entire writing workflow (except for this newsletter) is based around Markdown files and NeoVim. So I wanted to stay in my comfort zone, and attempted to use Markdown to write a book. It failed.
What I did succeed to do is using AsciiDoc, a format that is similar to Markdown, but provides more features out of the box that are very useful for writing books, as well as technical documentations.
In my latest blog post—Using AsciiDoc to write my two recent books—I outline the entire process of how, and why, I used AsciiDoc for my books.
